Love and Toes

During the creation of the pregnancy collages, there are certain pictures that have really jumped out at me.  Some of these will inevitably end up on our walls somewhere, taking the place of photos that probably should have been swapped out quite a while back!  :-)  We take a lot of photos when we get ready for each collage, and sometimes that makes it hard to decide which ones will be “showcased” that week.  Here is one such photo:

Love

This one very nearly became the center portion of the collage.  I have a certain method behind the collages, believe it or not, and the one requirement that I have for the centerpiece is that it’s a stomach-to-stomach photo of the two of us.  Number one: it shows off my ever-expanding midsection.  Number two: it is a picture of the two of us together, just having fun or enjoying each other’s company.  After all, my sweet husband is pretty fun!

I always call David in once I have the collage put together to get his opinion, and he always has great advice for me.  Sometimes he’ll point out a picture that might look better in one place or another; other times he might suggest expanding the area for one photo for one reason or another.  Either way, it has never failed to improve the collage, and I am always grateful for it!  This is the one time it was hard to follow his advice.  :-)  I had this particular picture as the centerpiece of the collage for the 27 weeks photo, and was absolutely in love with it.  I called David over to look at it, and this is the one time he really went back and forth on the center photo.  He and I both loved the Third Trimester photo:

Third Trimester!

I loved it because of the significance of the third trimester.  The fact that we have less than three months until we meet our little girl absolutely blows my mind. David loved the photo because he thought I was cute.  :-)  When we took the photos, I think I actually said, “Are you sure I don’t look like a doofus?”  I was just playing around, but now I’m really glad I did.  David really wanted to use this as the centerpiece of the collage, but since it wasn’t a stomach-to-stomach one, I didn’t want to.

His next argument was that he didn’t want to be the focal point of the collage.  This was the whole reason for him not wanting to use photo #1 where I’m kissing his cheek.  There are several reasons I adore that photo.  First of all, David is just too handsome.  He’s so fun to look at!  *heehee!*  I also really like seeing the results of my expanding belly; it’s starting to get in the way of things like counters, opening doors, and (obviously) kissing David’s cheek, and I’m glad I have evidence of this for our girl to look at later.  There’s also something about having to stand on my tip-toes to get to him.  (If you can’t tell, I am doing this in that picture.)  Lastly, I like our hands.  David’s doing two things here that I love – he is loving on our little girl, and he is supporting me.  He was there to hold on to so I could reach him!

For all of these reasons, I had to give everyone a close-up of this photo since it didn’t make it as the centerpiece.  I love my husband!

There is one more photo of that day I wanted to show off:

Toes

The reason?  This is possibly the last pedicure I give myself before she comes.  I’ve heard from others that it’s not easy to paint your toenails when you are pregnant.  They were NOT kidding!  This is the hardest time I’ve had painting my nails, mostly because I like having my feet close when I paint them.  I might try one more time, but I’ll have to see how it goes.  Either way, it’s not like I can see them anyway.  :-)  lol!

A positive note to end this post on: all of our boxes are unpacked!  Woohoo!!  The house isn’t all put together yet, but everything is out of boxes.  That makes me a very happy woman.  I hate packed boxes…

  2. Don’t you mean that you hate “packed” boxes? If they’re unpacked, give the boxes away – heeheehee!
I’m glad you’re so sweet on your honey. However, I want to point out that if I had said anything like that, you would have made a face and said “Ewwww!” lol!
Nice toes! Sorry you’ve lost sight of them….. :-)

    • Oopsie – thanks for the catch! It’s now been fixed. :-)

You have every right to say “Ewwwww!” in response to me. lol That doesn’t mean I won’t stop though! *heehee*

As for the toes, I’m glad you like them! I had been meaning to paint them for a while. At least I can still see them when I hold them out in front of me!
